Your Light

Your Light’s flower bloom
Neath light of the Moon,
Fills my heart with delight.

For such glory I see
Is bequeathed unto thee,
Adding to the beauty of night.

For my heart doth race
I try to embrace,
But your light eludes my grip.

I try again in vain
My heart filled with pain,
You give me the elusive slip.

And the night drags on
As I cry all alone,
Waiting for a sign to follow.

I hear in the distance
For just an instance,
The cry of a lone swallow.
